How to compare moving quotes
The lowest total is not automatically the best value.
First check: do the quotes include the same work?
<p>A quote can only be compared meaningfully when the underlying scope is the same. Check crew size, vehicle type, estimated duration, floors, carrying distance, packing materials, disassembly, assembly and disposal.</p><p>Pay attention to phrases such as “charged according to work” when no calculation basis is given. This is not necessarily negative, but the hourly rate, minimum duration and possible surcharges should be clear.</p>
Seven questions before confirming
<ol><li>Which services are explicitly included?</li><li>How many movers and which vehicle are planned?</li><li>Is the price fixed or time-based?</li><li>Which surcharges could apply?</li><li>How are extra furniture or changed access conditions handled?</li><li>Who is the contact for scheduling and execution?</li><li>Which payment and cancellation terms apply?</li></ol><p>Keep the request and quote together so it remains clear which details formed the calculation.</p>
Warning signs in unclear quotes
<ul><li>An unusually low price without a furniture list or inspection.</li><li>No reference to floors, carrying distance or heavy items.</li><li>Unclear payment terms or promises made only verbally.</li><li>Assembly is mentioned but not listed in the scope.</li><li>Surcharges remain open although pricing is time-based.</li></ul><p>Ask for clarification in writing. A good quote does not need to be long, but its main assumptions should be visible.</p>
